Number of electric vehicle charging hubs doubled in 2023

New figures published by a leading charge-point app have shown that the number of EV charging hubs doubled in the last year. In 2023 alone, the number of charging hubs with more than six rapid or ultra-rapid charging devices has jumped from 108 to 264 across the UK.

While the majority of these new hubs are located on or near major road networks, at locations including retail parks, car parks and general fuel stations, 20% are also located specifically at Motorway service stations.

This growth in ultra-rapid charging facilities will prove a huge boost to the UK’s EV drivers who are covering a higher mileage and who need to charge their vehicles on-route. The UK has now passed the milestone of enjoying more than 50,000 public charging points across the country, and with the rate of growth in these expected to continue into 2024, business drivers can have confidence in their charging while on the road.
