The issue

Dyson were looking for a company who understood these requirements and who would work as a partner rather than just a supplier.

The resolution

Following a detailed tender exercise Activa were appointed as sole supplier.

Having met with the key personnel at Activa and Arnold Clark, Dyson were impressed by the empathy and commitment given to providing a truly personalised service. Implementing multi-level contact and accountability alongside a dedicated Account Manager has proved to be an effective way of maintaining the service levels that Dyson require.

Activa have ensured that manufacturers and providers of ancillary services fully understand Dyson's requirements and have assumed responsibility as well as management of these relationships.

The impact

The relationship between Dyson and Activa has been built on solid foundations; communication between both parties has allowed this partnership to thrive.

Regular supplier performance reviews have helped to strengthen understanding of what Dyson require from their fleet. These performance reviews measure all aspects of service and promote a candid exchange of ideas. Our simple approach to exception reporting is proving a great success.

We have introduced a number of cost saving enhancements including Whole Life Cost, contract control, streamlined administration and accident management. Activa's transparent and flexible invoice system has considerably reduced the work load of the accounts department.

Dyson is renowned for quality. They expect the same standards from suppliers. Activa have so far lived up to this reputation.
