A third of fleet managers are not aware of EV BIK changes

A new Go Ultra Low study says that 32% of fleet managers that it surveyed did not know that EVs attract no BIK in the current tax year and 1% in the next tax year.

This is despite a third of fleet managers expecting that half of their car fleet will be electric by 2025.

The three key factors that inhibit EV adoption amongst fleet managers according to the survey include:

  • the elevated price point of electric vehicles (47%)
  • their limited range (51%)
  • a lack of charge points (56%)

40% of respondents said they had no charging provision at work so were reliant entirely on public infrastructure. Go Ultra Low confirmed that companies and business drivers are vitally important to the widespread adopting and acceptance of electric vehicles.

This summer, Go Ultra Low and the Energy Saving Trust plan to launch a digital Fleet Solutions Pack, which helps companies make a switch to EVs.
